Description
The first coin from the series “History of Theatre” is dedicated to the theatre in Epidauros. The theatre is amazingly reconstructed to the smallest detail. On the reverse side two images of the great Greek writers are presented: Sophocles and Aeschylus. Mintage: only 500 pcs. worldwide. With box and COA Epidaurus (Ancient Greek: Ἐπίδαυ 61;ος, Epidauros) was a small city (polis) in ancient Greece, on the Argolid Peninsula at the Saronic Gulf. Two modern towns bear the name Epidavros. Since 2010 they belong to the new municipality of Epidaurus, part of the regional unit of Argolis. The seat of the municipality is the town Lygourio.
