Description
The second coin of the series “Burning Marijuana” – Indica.
This silver coin has been fully plated with Black Ruthenium, and 24K gold gilding, and color. The coin’s reverse depicts a burning indica leaf gilded in gold. On top the inscription “Canada”, the fineness of the Silver is present on both sides, left and right.
On the bottom of the coin the inscription “Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pur”. The coin is completely plated with Ruthenium and partly with pure gold. On the coin’s obverse the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the issue date.
This series is going to have an extremely low mintage of 420 coins, which is of significance to the Marijuana culture.
Broad-leafed Cannabis indica plants in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan are traditionally cultivated for the production of charas, a form of hashish. Pharmacologically, C. indica landraces tend to have a higher cannabidiol (CBD) content than C. sativa strains. Some commercially available indica strains have been selected for high levels of CBD, with some users reporting more of a “stoned” feeling and less of a “high” from C. indica when compared to C. sativa. The Cannabis indica high is often referred to as a “body buzz” and has beneficial properties such as pain relief in addition to being an effective treatment for insomnia and an anxiolytic, as opposed to sativa’s more common reports of a “spacey” and mental inebriation, and even, albeit rarely, comprising hallucinations. Differences in the terpenoid content of the essential oil may account for some of these differences in effect. Common indica strains for recreational or medicinal use include Kush and Northern Lights.
420, 4:20, or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a slang term that refers to the consumption of cannabis, especially smoking cannabis around the time 4:20 p.m. and smoking and celebrating cannabis on the date April 20. April 20 has become a counterculture holiday in North America, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis. Some events have a political nature to them, advocating for the legalization of cannabis.
Please note that Black Ruthenium is a shiny metal and will not be as pronounced as the picture, as it needs the right light to give it that dark black look.
