Inspired by a carved human skull from 18th century Tibet, the new Carved Skulls & Bones series is going to be kind of creepy, yet beautiful at the same time. The debut coin is struck from 1 oz silver 999 and walks the line between eerie and elegant so well that once you see it, you won?t be able to take your eyes off it. A very successful combination of antique finish, copper plating, high relief and plenty of details in the back ground.
The whole thing comes housed in a stylized spooky packaging with a CoA inside. It’s no wonder that the worldwide mintage is 666 pieces. Purchased from an antiques shop in Vienna, Austria, this amazingly carved skull was possibly made to take a curse off a family or to guide the soul of a mislead human being on the right path. The original seller claimed that it was given to an ancestor of his that had given medical treatment to a Tibetan abbot while travelling in that Asian country. It was suggested the skull was around 300 years old.
